This is one of the reasons The LEGO Movie hit wayyy closer to home than Frozen to me. Instead of a problem that only tackles some few, selected people, you can’t deny that at least at one point you have looked at yourself and felt worthless because everyone around you outshines you even in the things you’re good at.

That’s one of the reasons this movie made me legitimately cry in the theater, that, and due to the fact that the moral that accompanies this is much more empowering than just “letting it go”.

And let’s talk about that facial expression at the end like I didn’t know a lego could make me cry.

I feel like it was meant for college students

OH HEY LETS TALK ABOUT HOMESTUCK!

So yeah, 4/13 kinda snuck up on me and it got me thinking about how this extrordinary comic has affected me over the years. I can honestly say that my first impression of reading it was “THERE ARE SO MANY GOD DAMN WORDS I CAN’T TAKE NO MORE” and I am so grateful I persisted on with the series because I was able to experience some of the most dramatic, heart wrenching, and fucking HILARIOUS stories that MS Paint had to offer. Because of Homestuck, I also made my first forray into cosplay with my best friend, Paige, and made some truly amazing friends that shared our love for Homestuck’s characters. Amazing is not a fitting enough word to describe what it was like to be a part of so many people getting together to celebrate how awesome Homestuck is. It’s sad knowing that it will end soon, but I’m also excited to see how it will end, knowing that I’ll never anticipate what may come. I can honestly say I’ve never been in a fandom quite like Homestuck and its very possible I may never experience a fandom as amazing as it. I’m thankful I could have been a tiny miniscule part of something so enormous and uplifiting.

Uuh… it’s hard to explain, it’s a burden that just appears out of nowhere and fucks you up for days. Ignoring it is not easy. It takes over you and even tends to distort your perception of reality turning it into a living nightmare. It’s awful and terrifying.
